MALIZIA EXPLORER

Since 2018, Team Malizia combines offshore racing with a bold mission: using the adventure of our sport to drive climate action, gather vital Ocean data during some of the world’s toughest races, and educate children globally. Building on this commitment, the Malizia Explorer research vessel was launched in April 2025 to operate at the intersection of science, communication, and outreach.

Travelling with low emissions across the globe, the vessel collects critical data, supports marine and climate policy events and engages with governments, civil society and communities.

The aim is to make scientific knowledge more accessible, to support public dialogue around Ocean protection and climate issues and help shape well informed, collective climate action.

This research vessel is a natural evolution of our team’s mission which allows us to expand our impact, venturing to new regions, collaborating with scientists, and communicating the urgent message about Ocean health and climate change. We want to not only collect data but also bring the story of what’s happening beneath the surface to life.
